Dupalo scents fall into several groups: flowers, woods, offerings, and sweet or fruit notes. We found 19 variant names in Shopee and Tokopedia listings on 3 November 2026. However, the real total is higher, since Jawa Pos reported 52 scents in 2024, and we haven't tested any of them.

A list of 19 Dupalo scents from marketplaces

This list comes from Shopee listings summarized by BigGo and from Tokopedia. The character column is our estimate based on the original material, not a test result.

However, names of Dupalo scents don't prove the contents. For example, the Vanila variant may not contain real vanilla. Also, most of these listings come from resellers, so ask for details before you buy.

What confusing Dupalo scents names mean

Some names are hard for buyers to read. Fortunately, English listings from the reseller Reniala Naturals offer clues, so we can answer part of the puzzle.

Sarinadu or Sarimadu?

Jawa Pos wrote sarinadu as a best seller in 2024. By contrast, marketplace listings write Sarimadu, and one translates Sari Madu as Nectar. So sarinadu is probably a typo, although the maker hasn't confirmed that. We also quoted that spelling in our profile of the maker.

Tunjung Biru

Also, the same listing gives the name Blue Lotus, so tunjung biru refers to a blue water lily. It was also among the popular scents in an ANTARA report from 2022, along with lavender, lotus and sandalwood.

Canang Sari

This name uses the term for a daily offering in Bali. The listing translates it as Balinese Flower Offering. However, we don't yet know how the scent is blended.

Candan

Meanwhile, Jawa Pos lists candan among the best sellers. On Shopee, resellers also sell fragrance oil labeled candan dupalo, so the name seems fairly well known. Even so, no listing explains its character.

The Dupalo scents named most often

Two reports name popular scents specifically. This table shows what they share.

SourceScents named as popular
ANTARA, 2022Lavender, lotus, blue lotus and sandalwood
Jawa Pos, 2024Sarinadu, lotus, sandalwood, candan, tunjungbiru and moringa

Lotus, blue lotus and sandalwood appear in both reports. In other words, traditional choices seem to last, although we have no sales data per scent. These reports also rely on quoted statements, not audits.

To see Dupalo scents in the Dupa Incense database, open Dupalo Teratai and Dupalo Cendana. Their profiles are still our estimates.

How to choose Dupalo scents for your purpose

Scent is personal, so these suggestions are only a starting point. Therefore, choose by purpose, then try a small pack first.

  • Beginners: start with sandalwood or lavender, because those materials tend not to be too sharp.
  • Traditional settings: jasmine, frangipani or canang sari sit closer to ceremonies and offerings.
  • Sweet scent lovers: vanilla, sarimadu or pandan could suit you.
  • Modern tastes: coffee and apple differ from the traditional image of incense.
  • Fans of raw materials: see the Atma line, which highlights agarwood and benzoin.

Besides, the room matters. A strong white floral can feel heavy in a small bedroom. Therefore, burn half a stick first, then open a window. Read our guide to incense smoke as well if smoke bothers you.

Why can the same scent smell different?

Several things change how Dupalo scents burn, even under one name. First, the product class can differ, such as Special and Premium. Second, the form differs, because sticks, cones and powder burn in different ways. Third, storage matters, since damp conditions can change a scent.

Production also plays a large part. Medcom.id and other media say Dupalo uses fragrance oils, whereas Atma descriptions emphasize the scent of materials. So don't assume Gaharu from one line matches Gaharu from another, as we explain in our Gentong Tiga review.

Dupalo scents we didn't find in listings

Media reports have named several scents that didn't appear on the marketplace pages we read. This list matters, because you may need to ask a seller about them directly.

  • Wood and resin: agarwood as an oil scent outside the Atma line.
  • Flowers: tuberose.
  • Leaves and drinks: moringa and tea.
  • Fruit and sweet: grape and chocolate.

This doesn't mean these scents have stopped selling. Instead, we only saw a small part of the catalog, because Tokopedia showed 10 of its 30 products and Shopee refused our automated access. So ask the store about stock before you conclude anything.

How to take notes when you try a scent

Because we haven't tested Dupalo scents, your own notes will be more useful than any list. Try this simple method:

  1. Burn only one scent per session, then open a window until the air clears.
  2. Write down your impression at minute one and minute ten, because a scent can change.
  3. Note the amount of smoke, the burn time and how your throat feels.
  4. Compare the price per stick in our price table before you buy a large pack.

Finally, stop if you start coughing or feel short of breath.

A note on photos and data

Also, the flower and material photos in this article only illustrate scent names. They don't show Dupalo products, because we don't have permission to use pack photos. Shopee refused our automated access, so Shopee data comes from BigGo. Dupa Incense is run by a Dupalo partner, and the maker hasn't reviewed this article.
